Cancer: In the opinion of Ensor, Means and Henkel (1985) the cells of the body are in continuous multiplication, growth and sustaining injury, raping themselves, doing their work and finally disintegrating.

In cancer, the cells stop reproducing themselves in an orderly fashion leading to disorganization and proliferation of cells which is not stopped leads to the death of the patient. The cause of this abnormality is not conclusively ascertained but endocrine imbalance, enzymatic changes, chemical compounds, irritation, radiation and viruses may not be ruled out. 

The widely proliferating cells usually come together in a mass known as neoplasm or tumor. These cells, divide long before they are mature and tend to die prematurely.

Hoffman believed that a greater incidence of cancers of all types occurred simultaneously with the technological advancement of the human race. Oil pollution in sea foods, cigarette smoke, burning refuse, power plant emissions and motor exhaust fumes may induce or cause cancer. Other substances if ingested or used by man that may likely cause cancer are, certain based substance used in manufacturing plastic, steering wheels and door knobs, river polluted with industrial wastes, diets high in cholesterol, pesticides residues, polluted air, water and air in coal mines, farms, print shops, asbestos plant etc.

Cancer cells grow abnormally without any just cause which if not checked early will lead to death because as the cells produce they invade other areas of the body by direct spread (extension), invading the lymph channels and thereby carried to distant parts of the body and may be carried directly into the bloodstream which makes it possible for them to be at any part of the body where they grow and reproduce the tissue of their origin. At the  Start of the diseases, the patient may not feel pain or bleed which make cancer to be difficult to treat very well.

A sore that does not heal
